Thomas C. Gent, DDS
Meet Dr. Gent
My goal as a dentist is to help people live healthier and more vibrant lives. A person should not be held back from life’s experiences and opportunities because of chronic pain. My treatment philosophy is holistic, focusing on the entire person, and creating a pain-relief plan that meets each patient’s individual needs. I am truly blessed to have the opportunity, passion, and skills to profoundly improve my patients’ quality of life.
Education and continuing education
- Bachelor of Arts — McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery — University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School
After earning my undergraduate degree and working for years in the corporate world, I realized I truly wanted a more personal profession, and the opportunity to make a difference and help people. I am a natural artist and craftsman, have a passion for health and wellness, and wanted the challenge of owning a practice. Dentistry seemed like the natural choice!
Continuing education, especially in the areas of headache and migraine pain therapy, allows me to offer the most predictable, long-lasting results. Every patient deserves the opportunity to receive the best care possible. I love helping people and improving their quality of life by focusing on long-term outcomes and optimal health.

Outside the office
I was born in Chicago, IL, but grew up in Dallas. I currently reside in Austin with my wife and office manager, Molly, our son Finn, and our Australian Kelpie, Sasha. My faith, my family, and my health are my three main interests. Living a balanced, healthy lifestyle in all aspects of life (spiritually, physically, emotionally, and professionally) has led me to be truly happy. I also love to travel and experience new places, people, and adventures.
